Rough start on PDR torpedos?

So earlier in the year I got the PDR Torpedo sampler.
I've smoked about 8 of them, and they've had 2+ months in my humi.
(I know that's not long, but I've only been back at this for 9 months or so, so none of my sticks have any age........dang it.

Anyways, for some reason, almost every one of these PDR torpedos starts off "rough" - somewhat harsh, irritating retrohale, borderline nasty taste........
Then, by about the time I'm midway through the first 1/3, they transform into a very good, smooth, tasty smoke.
I toast and light and smoke them the way I always smoke any cigar.
They burn perfectly.
My humis are proper and stable.
None of my other cigars do this (at least so far.)

Anyone else experience this with PDR torpedos?
Weird batch possibly?

Were the feet of these cigars near something that could have affected the flavor? I've never had this phenomenon with PDR.

    hmmm......you might have something there....
The feet of most of those were about 1/2 inch away from humi-care pillows....
Maybe the foot of each smoke was a bit too moist?
(I've now moved my pillows in that humi to different spots - Heartfelt beads arriving Monday for this humi - no more pillows!)
