Torano Salutem - My review attempt

This is a typical Torano.
The construction is the typical Torano quality.
Prelight draw has a bit of a sweet cedary taste with a little bit of caramel taste to it.

The first part of the cigar was quite mild.
Cedar, caramel and a hint of spice. I smoked this one very slow, as it is unique, so I wanted to be certain of what I was getting.
Further into the cigar, the cedar and caramel remained pretty constant, but the spice picked up. It gets a little "grassy/nutty" note to it.
It has a lot of the familiar Cameroon notes to it, but different.

The ash is very light grey to quite white.
The burn is very consistent. No issues with the burn or the wrapper.

Past the halfway mark, the spice picks up a bit and remains pretty constant after that.
It has a bit of a nutty taste to it.

There were no draw problems what so ever.
This thing billows smoke.
It didn't burn hot at all. Fairly cool smoke pulled from this cigar with little effort.

I'd say this is a medium cigar.
The cameroon sweetness was very evident all the way through the cigar.

All in all, I'd say Torano knocked this out of the park.
I'm defintely digging this cigar.

That sounds pretty yummy. Sounds like if you like torano, which I do, this will be a great choice for your rotation. Going to have to get some right after the box of petit edmundos.

for someone with zero patience you did a awesome job on your review. keep up the good work and do some more.
  • This blend was actually made by our Sales rep Miguel. He had some problems recently (brain cancer or something), and through several surgeries, actually came through it and is healthy now. In tribute to Miguel, they worked with him to create the Salutem. He is a great guy too, I have met with him several times at our local cigar tastings in the Cincinnati area. It's also a great smoke, but who would expect less from Torano?

Thanks for all the kind words guys. I appreciate it.

Personally, I see this as another quality Torano product that may often get overlooked.
