Re: How Old Were You When You Started Smoking A Pipe Or A Cigar?
Big Fat Heretic: I'm 61 years old, going on 62 this coming September 30th. I was 19 years old when I smoked my first pipe, a corn cob pipe with Sir Walter Raleigh, then I tried Prince Albert, and many other brands, until I tried a nice sweet Black Cavendish, and that has become the only pipe tobacco that I smoke. I prefer… -
Re: Seeking a balance between price and quality: a student's question.
kaspera79: betasynn:Okay, so on payday (thursday) I'll be picking up a Triple Maduros to try, and I think now from Kaspera's added input, maybe a Gurkha as well. The question, of course, would be which on. Any suggestions on this front? As an aside, thank you all for responding so quickly. I was a little worried, I must… -
Re: Sunday Morning smoke , & news from the Kitchen Table
Good morning , it is Sunday 13 Feb.2011 a cold wet morning here in da Burgh , a sad week here as we had to go to Michigan for a funeral for my Uncle Bill,it was good to see the cousins again but this isnt the way it should be done, I spent my summers from the time I was 5 or 6 untill I went to the Navy ,in Flint & later… -
Re: Aging in lower humidity?
So I'm not an intentional ager. The only times that I end up aging cigars are with the second half of a full box because I'm not smoking them down fast enough. Given that, I'll give your question a shot. First off, I don't think people intentionally age cigars at a lower humidity then they prefer for their smoking stock.… -
Re: low humidity (yeah I know)
First off, welcome to the forums . . . . and its a good question. the right humidity is sort of an art form rather than a science with way too many variables. as for the question, it's probably the change in weather in combination with your boveda packs drying out. You said that during the warmer months you don't even need… -
Re: Problems with seal on Coleman xtreme 70q?
1) Choose a tight lid 2) Move to DullAware. 3) Rarely open I have remote wireless hygros in three big fish coolidors. One holds wrapper leaf at 64%, one holds filler leaf at 50%, and the third holds about a kilogar of home rolls aging at 62%. No bovedas ever ever ever have gone into any of them. Zero expense. Nada. They… -
Re: Long term storage
I ran my full 150 quart cooler on 2 lbs of beads and 4 65% boveda packs and I changed the packs once a year. If you do a cooler here are some things you may want to think about. 1. Make sure you FILL it. The more cigars in there the better your humidity will hold. 2. Make sure your cigars are properly humidified before you… -
Re: conservagel is gone?
maybe time for me to post this again - something I posted in another forum back in Feb. ============ Disclaimer! 1) I'm not a KL preacher/basher or a Heartfelt preacher/basher. Just an older guy on a budget, with a growing cigar habit. I have purchased Beads and accessories from Heartfelt a few times. 2) I live in one of… -
Re: 2013 NFL Draft / Free Agency
The Kid: madurofan: The Kid: As far as stats they do mean something and are a valuable tool, but they dont tell the whole picture. Lets say a QB only threw 10 interceptions last year,, and had 5 fumbles.. but all of those turnovers were at key moments in the game and ultimately decided the outcome, which equated to 15… -
