There are three things going on here that would make the last 1/3rd taste different than the first 1/3rd. 1) Tobacco blending. Well I've contradicted myself. I was actually just sitting outside watching it rain puffing on a Sol Cubana Cuban Cabinet and enjoyed it down to the band point but then couldn't take the harshness that I was getting from the hot final 1/3 and had to lay it down. It's truly different from stick to stick. -

It seems like wood and cream is more pronounced in the first 1/3 and nut/coffee/chocolate int he last, at least to me (far from an expert). It may be that the flavor profile of a cigar matches with the best portion. I'd imagine this sort of progression in when different flavors become pronounced is a major factor in…
