Does anyone have one? Do you use it? What do you have. I need details. My family is getting bigger and we love being outside. Oh, and I hate sitting outside trying to smoke and watching something on this iPad.

I have a tv in my garage where I smoke with full cable. It's awesome! Don't know much about projectors, but they do make tv's specifically for outdoors."We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give". Winston Churchill.

A few of my friends have setups that they really like. They have the inflatable screens with a decent projector. I can ask for details and pictures from them. They started projecting on the side of the side of their house but found having a real screen was preferred for picture quality and flexibility.Despite the high cost of living, it remains popular.2

You may want to do a two-pronged attack, Larry; a TV for personal viewing while smoking, and a setup like Hawkeye mentioned for larger group parties/movie nights.
If you build it they will come."I could've had a Mi Querida!" Nick Bardis3 -
There's this subdivision I drive past almost every night on my way home and the third house in from the main road has a large (two story) windowless brick wall (It's noticeable because the next door neighbors security lighting illuminates the whole surface) and I always think to myself, "If that were my house, that would be a great surface for an outdoor movie projector party with the neighbors".0

Sell the z and buy the tv."We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give". Winston Churchill.

It would be cool to buy an old film projector and show old Laurel and Hardy movies.
Nevermind. I checked ebay. Might be more expensive than modern projectors

Did this when the kids were younger and watching G rated movies.
If you don't have a handy wall to project the picture on to, you can do what I did. I picked up four plastic covered metal garden stakes from the home improvement store to hold up a sheet. I used two 7' or 8' stakes pounded into the ground and hose clamped small U-bolts near the top that I could use to hang the top pole on. My Wife sewed the ends of the sheet so I could push a pole through the top and the bottom, I put a pole in the bottom but didn't attach it to the vertical poles so that if the wind started blowing the screen could move instead of taking everything down.

I've seen the inflatable screens and other commercial screens but I was looking to spend a lot less than what they wanted. You could also hang a sheet from a clothes line, I hear that it's a popular way to watch movies while camping.Join us on Zoom vHerf (Meeting # 2619860114 Password vHerf2020 )1 -

I currently have an Optoma W335 3800 Lumens WXGA DLP Projector. I've only had it a couple of months, and never used it outside. It is mounted on my office/classroom ceiling. I'm pleased with it so far. For seven years I used a Vivitek D911. It was great, but is no longer made. FWIW...I think you get what you pay for in the projector market.Hey, you gonna eat the rest of that corndog?1
