Something for the dogs

We recently adopted a Rhodesian Ridgeback from the Iocal shelter. To make a long story short he is terrified of thunder storms to the point of having a seizure. We heard about something called a Thunder Shirt that applies gentle pressure like wrapping a baby in a blanket. It came yesterday and we are now having severe thunderstorms and he is as calm as can be. I just wanted to share this because I'm sure there are others on the forum that have the same problem.

Chris, I was skeptical too about this , but talked to our vet as an alternative to drugs and he said he heard a lot of good from those who tried it. I'm just so happy to see him calm instead of being terrified as he has been. You can't dispel Ignorance if you retain Arrogance!0

We had one for one of our dogs who was afraid of storms. It helped a lot and we used it less and less and now he doesn't need it.
I know, You're a big dog and I'm on the list.

It is like being hugged. Most of our rescues were traumatized by a tornado (one injury) and scattered everywhere. When we found them days later they were huddled together in a ditch that we had been putting food in, keeping each other company. I have a couple of the "blankets" but other then getting close to each other and us, they seem to be over it.
I had to go back and edit some grammar.0 -

I sleep with a weighted blanket, love it even when the weather is hot.1

A dog for keeping lions and such at bay from other animals while the owner killed the lion.Is he a young dog?jd, yes they were bred for that but the lion activity in NJ has been significantly reduced. I'm not talking about a breed , I'm talking about helping pets. Get your head outta your arse.

Thank You very much jd, you don't know a thing about what we've done with rescues over the years. Wildlife, birds, dogs, cats so if you want to go to to toe feel free. I won't stoop to that. You can't dispel Ignorance if you retain Arrogance!0

Your already stooped as far as you can, Telling me to take my head out of my ass when I asked a legitimate question when only trying to help..You should have prefaced your post with "I am an expert". Me, I am not. I learn about rescues every day.
Why don't you show me how intelligent you are and answer my questions.
Or are you just jumping on a bandwagon?0 -
No, don't bother, you are not worth the effort.0

Thank you this was never about anything other than helping pets. Just to answer your question my boy is 4 1/2 years old and is the sweetest most intelligent dog I've ever had.You can't dispel Ignorance if you retain Arrogance!0

I wish you all would stop dancing around the issues and say what you really mean. Don't hold back, it's not healthy. Sometimes, we all just get out of the wrong side of the bed.The good news is that we all smoke and enjoy cigars.5

OK, I've thought about this, and smoked on it, and I've come to a decision. My decision is that these two need a lesson in how brothers should treat one another.
@jd50ae, @Sleddog46, I suggest you go outside and kiss your mailboxes goodbye.
You've called down the thunder.
Cigarmaggedon is upon you.
