Black Label Trading Company Salvation Gran Toro; it has been in the shop humidor for like forever. Not a fan of 60 ga. smokes but it has to get smoked sooner or later and its time has come.
Morning Charles, all. Starting today with a Warped 1988. Worth trying if you haven't yet:
"Warped Serie Gran Reserva 1988 is another yet collaboration between Kyle Gellis and Casa Fernandez. Gran Reserva 1988 is a single-size Nicaraguan puro line. The wrapper leaf is a Corojo '99 while the filler is a blend of Corojo '99. All Nicaraguan Tobacco produced by AGANORSA."
A long, tapered perfecto. Just received the mold for it Friday. This is my first attempt, so loads of room for improvement. One large leaf of Nic Condega ligero, three smallish leaves of Nic Condega viso, bound in one half large leaf of Nic Condega seco. All the Condegas are Habano seed. Wrapped in FX Smith's Sons Connecticut shade. Smoked one last night. Holy Hannah! Got to smoke another right now.
You guys who don't roll your own are missing out. You miss the art both of the shape and the band, the skill of the roll, the science of the leaf, the patient anticipation of aging... all's you do is skip straight to gustatory enjoyment. Like eating canned stew. Reminds me of my motorcycle friends who take their bikes to the shop for everything. They miss out on half the fun, which is wrenching. My old KLR is waiting in the shed right now for snow to fall. Then I'll turn on football in the garage, wheel her in, and rebuild her carb for the umpteenth time. That's why you put a beer fridge in the garage, is for happy wrenching.
Anyhoo, judging by yesterday's Delicado, I have great hopes for this one.
Go Eagles!
“It has been a source of great pain to me to have met with so many among [my] opponents who had not the liberality to distinguish between political and social opposition; who transferred at once to the person, the hatred they bore to his political opinions.” —Thomas Jefferson (1808)
