Having trouble with humidor . Need advice ?

Hello . I have a whynter cigar cooler . The small version . Has about 75 cigars in it .
I am having trouble with humidity going to high . ( only in last couple weeks ) the humidity is up around 70 without any kind of humidifier inside . Only thing is cigars and cedar shelves .  The room temps is 70 degrees and room humidity is 55-60 .

Most of summer the cooler stayed around 68 on humidity and 66 on temp . I keep temp set on 66 . There was one humidifier pack in box all summer .
Now the temp is set on 63 trying to bring humidity down . No humidifier packs . And humidity is still up around 70 .
How do I maintain and 68 humidity ?

    Bovedas.

Colder air holds less humidity so when the temp dropped, the RH% went up with the same moisture in the air.

You could leave the door open for a bit.

That's why it's called *relative* humidity.

Dropping the temp too much will cause moisture to condense inside, try back at 68 degrees.

Try going to Cigar 101 section, read the top post.

When I learned that the dew point is the true measurement of moisture in the air, I started paying attention to that number and gave up on relative humidity.  There's an interesting temp/humidity/dewpoint calculator that has a graph with sliders reflect the three numbers, and when you adjust any of the three sliders you get a change in the other two indicators.  Try it, you'll like it.
