Ever just feel like it isn't worth it to post?

Especially when a topic is one you know a lot about and/or have a lot of experience with. Sometimes I feel this way and just let folks spout whatever they want. Of course some of the advice given is dangerous then I feel kinda damned if you do damned if you don't, as you'll likely be ignored and talked down by the know it alls. But if you don't say anything they might get hurt or worse.

I dunno. No real point. Just feels like everyone who has read something is an expert on the internet sometimes.

P.S. I find that one of the best reasons I'm on THIS forum is for that same reason, most people are levelheaded and listen to all opinions

I totally agree. This and one other forum I frequent are full of levelheaded, like-minded individuals who have a basic respect for civil discourse. Some of the other forums I've been on are a little too trash-talky for me. I'm all for a good ribbin', but it get's old after a while.

In my experience, most of the people on this forum will offer honest OPINIONS or at least post a link to back up their statements. The internet is full of tough guys, know-it-alls and wannabees. But they're few and far between on this site.

Just my humble opinion......;-)

I am relatively political but I rarely post in the politics discussions here. It's just not normally worth it, and certain discussions can hurt friendships in a small community like this.

Yeah, I'm the same way for the most part. I 've had bad experiences with political and religious discussions on other forums. This is one of the few forums I go to anymore, because it's such a great place to come to and just joke and have a good chat. I try my best not to sully it up with getting into touchy subjects.

No seriously. I might offer misinformation sometimes. I pretty new to this and I've learned a lot over the last year, but I'm no afficianado. But I don't think that most of us are afficianados nor do we know an afficianado which is why we come on here seeking advice. If I'm wrong about something, please correct me, that way I don't follow my own bad advice.

Sometimes I get ready to post, then decide against it. I never claim to be a know-it-all in any discussions (except with my gf face to face), but sometimes want to give my opinion on something someone is inquiring about. Most of the time I prefer to read others' posts rather than type responses.

And this is exactly why I think it's worth it to post, look what happens to the most innocent posts...

We can discuss anything, and we always seem to end up at a donkey show, its like a bachelor party every day. A whole mess of booze, cigars and brother & sisters of like minds... where did you think this was going to go? church? I love this place!!

Donkey show..I missed that..was the donkey smoking a cigar... I think the posts are really interesting, especially the ones from the new guys...I can see myself in a lot of their early threads. Some of the threads are occasionally humorous in that you know this person is making a dreaded mistake but if you try to correct it oftentimes it gets mis-interpreted as coming from a know it all. So a lot of time I will just sit back, read and wait for the results. But there are a lot of posts that are quite informative but like anything on the internet you have to be able to discern what is real and what is just junk. Read-compare and go with what works best for you...don't get in over your head.

Well, I hate to be the bearer of sad news but...Word is that Lassy broke into the stables and took off with the donkey!!

Not sure what his intentions are, but I know that Duty's donkey was never the same after Lassy spent that one weekend with it. Poor thing just curled up into the corner of its stall and wouldn't stop trembling.

Pray for DennisKings' poor donkey, boy's.
