Saw a post on another forum about a Chicken Shawarma Bowl and decided to try it out tonight on the cast iron griddle. I had to make some substitutions (ras el hanout Mediterranean seasoning instead of za'atar in the yogurt and oil to marinate the chicken and random herbs and spices instead of za'atar on the veggies) and used mostly produce from the garden and I think it turned out great. I stuffed myself.
I still think my point on the burgers was lost in my rambling. It was more that the children were fed frozen patties and the adults were served fresh patties. Why serve the children a product that was deemed unworthy to serve adults? And yes I understand logistically why, just saying kids have taste buds too. My other point was it’s way cheaper to make your own ground beef, this seems to be what some are hung up on. Anyway can’t wait to see how I get blasted here, need some entertainment on this Monday.

I don't think it is so much that folks serve the kids something that isn't worthy of the adults. It seems to me to be more that kids don't always appreciate, or can't always appreciate, the finer, more expensive options. So many parents will get them something simpler or less expensive.

My kids hated gourmet macaroni and cheese at restaurants for quite a while, preferring the Kraft Mac & Cheese until their palates developed an appreciation for different cheeses. I think the same may be going on here.

Type of foods (I have kids), however not with hamburger meat. I did also state I understand the logistics behind the decision.
I will clarify further, I am an ****, my opinion is my opinion and yes I know I’m a jerk and a douch sometimes however I am me. Plus I don’t mind speaking my mind and stirring the pot a little. Someone has too do it and take the flack.
