Anyone have an idea what this is?

Some kind of small bug the size of a mosquito, but not. These things are flying around everywhere in large clouds, like gnats.

I believe it’s called a Whitefly. They usually show up and disappear about as quick as mayflys.

Sounds like white fly. Are they about 1/16th of an inch?

    About 1/4" would be close.

Thank you, Edward. I've never heard of them. Glad they're non-biting.

Got another one for ya. I'm cleaning out an overgrown alley and came across this plant. It's not poison ivy, I don't think it's poison oak, but it looks suspicious. Poisonous?

BTW, I'm very susceptible to rashes from poison ivy and poison oak. Even wearing gloves and long sleeves I get covered in it. The last time was so severe I had to get steroid shots to cope with it.

Does the base of the stem have bark on it?
The leaves are a little different than any maple that’s native to my area. It looks like a Japanese maple called an Acer. Any of those around close?

No trees near it. The reddish tint to the leaves made me suspicious.

My guess would be Japanese maple sapling, or possibly a Sycamore from the shape of the leaves. Reddish tint could be a characteristic, or the result of soil composition.
