I never knew he was president.

He wasn't. He was the first Secretary of the Treasury under Washington, but never President.

He was shot on the 10th or 11th. Died on the 12th.

I wish I had researched that. 1440 news was wrong. He was shot by Burr but because he wouldn’t endorse him for President or when he ran for a Governors spot which Burr took offense to and challenged him to a duel.

Just learned today that my 8 cylinder truck has 16 spark plugs. Which makes sense, especially in a Hemi engine, but, I didn't know.

Interesting thing, we all, or nearly all, learned in school that Hamilton did the "gentlemanly thing" and fired his shot into the air, while Burr took aim and fired, killing his opponent. I saw a documentary a few years back that reported that Hamilton, who provided the weapons for the duel, had altered his weapon to give it a hair-trigger. He merely underestimated the low amount of pressure, and was actually planning to make sure he killed Burr by use of this deception. Not so gentlemanly, or even just manly, after all.

Different scenario. You're used to that, the dueling pistols were single shot, and Burr of course would never had held it. Hamilton assumed he'd have an advantage, but probably never practiced with it. That was what was inferred, anyway. I wasn't there, so, there's that.

Meticulously aged Dominican tobaccos inside its stately toro frame weave a full-bodied architecture that blends the maison’s hallmark elegance with unapologetic intensity. The inaugural draws greet the palate with pepper-tinged espresso and roasted nuts, soon softened by a subtle, natural sweetness that rounds the profile into poised harmony. Progressing through the smoke, each transition—cedar to spice, cocoa to cream—unfolds with silken precision, captivating seasoned aficionados while inviting adventurous newcomers to explore its depth. Produced in scarce quantities, this cigar crowns any collection with a statement of timeless sophistication and richly textured pleasure.

    What was the cigar?
