So many flags thats not nice.
A member or 2 were just hoping for his return. He even came back with a flash sale and the elusive sampler.
I agree. WTF!!! This guy is a former member in good standing. He comes back announcing his first born and trying to raise a little scratch for his newborn. He came to a place he trusted and was comfortable with. So what if you don’t agree with the prices. We’re better than this.
A good cigar and the open road solve most problems.
I like @JGruvey and think he's groovy too. Remember that statement.
He misses us? "miss ya'll"? Why not stop in and say hi when he's not trying to raise money? I'm not saying he's right or wrong, or pretending to know his life's circumstances, but it seems he only shows up when it's time to sell off some cigars.
And that might explain the flags.
I can see your point @peter4jc
However, does it warrant public chastisement or would it be better to tune him up privately in a DM?

I think that the flags are either from people who don't know or remember @JGruvey or it's part of the backlash from the recent Bobble Head drive-by.
Who knows?
I don't see any actual chastisement, unless a 'flag' qualifies.
As for public/private, a general rule is if the offense (or whatever it might be) is private, then the response is in private, or visa versa.
Personally, if @JGruvey wants to come here every couple of years and sell his stuff (at close to MSRP, mind you), I don't actually care, nor do I assume anyone cares if/or not I care. But at the same time, if he's free to do so, others are equally free to form (and state) opinions about it.
p.s. maybe this spurs some thoughts on what it means to be a "member in good standing"?
Good food for thought, @peter4jc.
Understood @peter4jc

Well fair enough. I meant no harm whatsoever. I’d have been more than willing to cut the prices if I had them to high. Yes, it had been a long time. I didn’t consider it would upset anyone. I won’t sell any here since it is upsetting folks.
I’ve always enjoyed the forum and have missed everyone. My wife and I have been doing 4 years of IVF cycles had several miscarriages and I had to take 2 jobs and move to PA and I’m getting my MBA so life has gotten in the way of my participation with the group. I got the email notifying that I was @ and missed by Shawn, thought the baby was a good reason to go look at what cigars I still have and I jumped right in. Apologies to anyone I offended.
Congrats on the baby boy!
I wouldn't presume to speak for anyone else, but 'upset' or 'offended' are too strong, and I doubt anyone feels either of those.
At the risk of sounding like the gatekeeper, or warden, as some tease me with, maybe next time don't stay gone for so long, but if you do, ease into it by being around for a week or a month before putting sticks up for sale.
Congratulations 🎊
This did exactly as intended hehe.
Congrats man! If I weren’t in a buying freeze I’d take a sampler off you. Maybe I’ll Pm you next week. 😅
