Cleaning a Humidor

A year ago I bought the VEVOR Electric Cigar Humidor with Spanish Cedar Wood.
I found online that they need to be cleaned out and re-seasoned. I get the cleaning but I don't the re-seasoning.
Also it read that if you find mold on the wood to use rubbing alcohol.
Does this make sense? Any tips?

If the wood is dry for whatever reason then it will absorb all the moisture in the air till it's happy. So the humidity will drop and the re-seasoning is done to replace the humidity in the wood instead of the humidor doing it. So a quicker and stable environment vs having wait..

If you find mold the rubbing alcohol will kill it. The reseasoning is for the wood after you’ve cleaned them with alcohol and let it all evaporate out.
If you use the little water reservoir that comes with the humidor, none of this matters because you will always have mold.

Get rid of the water and use boveda. If you’re replacing the bowl of water every week…where do you think that water is going?

True but I don't see much water lost, if any? I used Boveda for my smaller humidor, frustrating with the cost.
What about Cigar juice?

The cost? I have boveda that are several years old. They can be recharged. The best attribute about boveda is that it stabilizes humility. Things like water and cigar juice can only add humidity whereas boveda is a two way system. It can add humidity when needed and draw it out and hold it when needed.
Is the water level reduced in your reservoir when you replace it every week?

I add a few ounces to the bowl every week. I don't measure it but there seems to be no loss.
I have four sensors in the Humidor, these are the readings from the two more accurate ones.

If you’re adding a few ounces every week, those ounces are going somewhere. A hygrometer measures the relative humidity in the air of your humidor. It does not measure the moisture content of your cigars. Cigars are like a sponge. They will soak up any moisture they can until they become saturated. 70° and that excess moisture and you’re creating the perfect environment for mold.
The cost of boveda is minimal when you weigh the benefits it has against the invesment you have in cigars.

You might want to shop around a little

You also might want to double check that. With those dimensions nine 320g wouldn’t leave any room for cigars. My guess is one single 320g would be plenty

Forgot to mention this 70L Vevor humidor has a return tube on the bottom for the water.
Yeah nine of the Boveda's and maybe one box of cigars!
Well I took out all the cigars and wiped everything down with a dry cloth. NO MOLD! I then took a towel and added distilled water to it to clean down all the non-wood parts. I re-seasoned the wood shelfs and added the four sensors. Plugged it back in and will return the cigars tomorrow while I shop around for the Boveda.
