How long to keep em sealed in the box?

Managed to get lucky and pick up two boxes of Fuente Fuente Opus X sealed in the box... have a desktop humidor now being seasoned to eventually put them in... wondering if it's better to just keep em sealed up in their factory box and store them in a Yeti while I wait.. or is it better to take em out? Also, if I want to age them for a while.. better to keep them in an electric humidor boxed? or age them in the desktop humidor?

Using a Glencreag 900 count for electric humidor and I have Elie Bleu desktop humidor (the one being seasoned now over the next two weeks)

If you're not going to smoke them, I'd just keep them in the sealed box in the larger humidor. Or, in the Yeti, inside a good ziplock with a Boveda.

If you know this little about cigars…why would you spend so much on those two boxes??? Never mind the over priced humidor?

Who said I know very little?.. been smoking cigars and pipes over 30 years... just haven't bought many sealed boxes, much less very expensive ones that I don't plan to smoke right away and maybe age.

As for why I bought an "over priced" humidor ... you get what you pay for in this world.. I've had a dunhill box for 10 years (made by Elie Bleu) and it sealed like a Tupperware but has solid wood interior that keeps my cigars amazingly fresh for daily smoking... And more over, I can afford it, don't hate.

No hate, just a serious question. Still a valid one at that. You came and asked the question so I asked one in return. I’m glad you can afford it lol…maybe you can afford to do a little research for yourself if your áss is going to get chapped when someone asks you a question in return.

You go boy. Don't take no crap off of no one. But if you're researching on this forum, you're going to find out but the correct way to do it is to put the boxes in your igloo cooler with boveda.

But when they do, they leave them in the box in the cellophane. Cellophane is a wood-based product and it is moisture permeable.

There's no way that this isn't Steve or Daniel.

But in case it is not Steve or Daniel, you made a curious choice buying a $3,100 desktop humidor, especially if you already have another $3,100 desktop humidor. This is especially true since you bought $479 plastic box as your aging humidor.

Afford it or not, kind of goofy considering that you could have bought another one of those $500 jobbies and filled to the tipppy top of opus opus, Lost City, and all the rest of that fancy stuff.

To each his own though. Carry on.

thanks for the input my fellow Las Vegas friend, it lines up with my research too ... thinking of getting one of those wine cooler looking humidors with temp and humidity control to store the boxes in... maybe at like 68F and 65% Humidity..

If you're serious about really aging cigars, best to keep them at close to 70 from what I've heard. Course I don't really age cigars. I smoked them.

If you want to accelerate or enhance the aging process, you should look at what Nelson Alfonso does with his smokes. It's easy to do in Vegas with our ambient humidity.

Hit me up if you want to go meet somewhere and have a smoke sometime.

One of the best things I've learned from guys here on the forum, is that keeping cigars isn't all that complicated. You can drop a lot of money on stuff if you want to, but it certainly isn't necessary. A decent sealing cooler or tupperware and a few Boveda packs are really all you need.

I hope those cigars smoke well for you and help bring you a few moments of contentment.
