What causes this taste?

The blend is JLP's Burley DD

The taste I'm getting is a soapish one. Very strong at first light, then fades a bit but is present throughout the bowl.
When mixed with the sweet/floral notes....It's wonderful to me.

So what leaf would cause this?
I assume an Oriental?
Looking to find other blends with this type of profile.

    You like soap…try Ennerdale.
I don’t think it’s an actual leaf that causes it. Seems like I read that it’s mostly from toppings or casings derived from geraniums. I’ve also read that smoking too fast can cause it, but I’ve never gotten it from that.

If it don’t bother me, it don’t bother me. Just leave me alone.

Geraniums would make sense with the floral notes too. To me it's more like a lavender taste........But then again, I've never smoked ether one of those flowers so who knows.
I'll give Ennerdale a try. Who makes it? I know I've seen the name somewhere.
As for the smoking to fast if true, most blends I've tried would have tasted like a bar of Ivory.......I getting better as slowing down.

Some folks taste soap when cooking with cilantro, I use the heck out of it and can't even imagine a soapy taste but a lot of folks do

    A little dirt never hurt

It’s made by Gawith & Hogarth. A lot of the “Lakeland” blends have that taste, but from the ones I’ve tried, Ennerdale is definitely the one with the strongest soapy taste.

Called Peretti this am ( Inquiring taste buds want to know ) Was told no flavors added, all tobacco.
First time he had heard someone getting a soap note with this, floral yes. Everyone tastes things differently I guess.
Had be be the Burley giving me that.
Told me a couple other close in profile to try.

Just ordered some Ennerdale Mixture flake. Couldn't fine straight Ennerdale. Plus some other things I've been meaning to get to boot.
