Sam Adams Longshot - thoughts?

I picked up a six-pack of this recently, to give it a try (for anyone who doesn't know, it's the 3 beers from Sam Adams' home-brew contest). So I open them up and try them one by one . . . and I'm rather disgusted with each.
For each of them, after I pour it in to a glass and smell it, all I can smell is pure alcohol - with each sip, half of what I'm tasting is alcohol, the other half is some artificial crap I'd expect from one of those lemon-tinted lite beers. The beers are just hugely unbalanced IMO
Anyway, what do you guys think?

Same experience. I thought if Sam put their name on it, it would atleast be tolerable. The lemon one i couldnt even get past the first sip. And they are really alcoholy. Only thing i can think is something got lost somewhere in translation when sam mass produced a beer brewed in some guys backyard. I've had lots on micro brew....really small one as well...that are knock your socks off phenomenal. Waste of 10 bucks...0
