Cigar as a gift

I'm planning on buying a cigar or two for a friend of mine and was wondering if I need to do anything special. His birthday isn't for a couple of weeks still but I'll be buying the cigar this week. Do I need to store it someway special until I give it to him or anything else I need to know?

    Almost all cigar stores either have things called 'water pillows'. Just tell the shop owner to throw one in the bag with the cigars and you should be good to go.

    but from Cigar.com. If it's not a sealed box, it will come with a water pillow. For a week, that should do judt fine. What did you have in mind?
