lighting a cigar with a closed foot

So i ordered some of the man o war little devils, and im looking for advice on how to go about lighting the closed foot. Thanks in advace

    Welcome to the forum! I lite them just like any other...toast the foot. It will burn away rather quickly. Just my .02 worth!

    I light my closed foot Viaje just like a regular cigar. I don't know why but I really like a closed foot or a shaggy foot. The toasting takes a little extra but not much. Remember this is all tobacco leaf whether it is open or closed. Nothing but tobacco leaf so it will burn. Just toast it and go. May need a little touch up at the start but usually I have no issues with a really good toasting.

    I've got one MOW in my humi, havent actually lit one yet, looking forward to finding out though, lots of folks like em

    This is a timely thread; the postman brought me a box containing (amongst other goodies) some Nicaraguan 90+ 2nds, and the Perfectos have the little foot.  Never having smoked one of these, I thought about cutting it, but then just lit it up.  Success!  The fun part was watching the ash, and how it stayed in that same shape.
