Thanks Charles. Guncrafter has some extremely skilled smiths because the hand-fitting of all the parts is insane.CharlieHeis:

Then there's Dan Wesson -- prossibly one of the best values for 1911s. High quality parts (no MIM), and precise machining to achieve high tolerances. If / when the day comes that we can conceal carry in NJ, this will be in my holster.

The stock mags have a thicker butt plate that do the job. Although it's a little small. For my spare mag I carry a 21 mag with a grip extension that slides over the mag. Works pretty well. I typically carry +p in my full size 45s but in that 30s it's too much. This is pretty standard for me at 10-15yards. Anything further and I struggle.CharlieHeis:
Yeah, I would definitely do that. I like the fact that the G27 is also a .40 like my G22, but concerned it may be a little small in my hands. Would probably have to get grip extender for the 27. Do you need one for the G30S?bigfnsteve:
I'd say my GLock 21 or Dan Wesson Patriot.CharlieHeis:I've got a Glock G22. Looking to get a smaller one for conceal carry in the near future. Probably the G30S or G27. Or S&W M&P if I don't stay with a Glock.
That being said I carry a 30S. IF you havn't shot it yet I would put a few rounds through it before buying it. The recoil can take some getting us too.

Did you install a Ghost trigger, or ZEV?0

Different sights and a trigger job makes a world of difference in Glocks.0

I carry a Beretta 96A1. Feels just like the M9 but in .40 cal. One of the most accurate pistols I have ever shot.0

Have you seen the Wilson Combat coustom work to A1 series, very nice.bobbymaduro:I carry a Beretta 96A1. Feels just like the M9 but in .40 cal. One of the most accurate pistols I have ever shot.0 -
Sure have. The work that they do is impeccable. My buddy bought a Recon SR Tactical carbine done by them and it is about the sweetest gun I have ever touched. I have a Colt M4 carbine that i have put about 1200 into, but his puts mine to shame.ExpendableYouth:

+1 the Glock 21. Mine is Gen 1.5. Nothing fancy. Just fits me great and feels like an extension of me. Low recoil even with +P 230 grain rounds and I don't have big hands. For some reason it just fits.bigfnsteve:0 -
I know people love their Glocks, but I've owned two and sold both of them. I can't even shoot them without putting new sights and doing a trigger job.0

I like my G 23. It's blocky and ugly but i have big hands and it fits. I practice with a Walther P-22 to keep the ammo cost down. The P-22 feels like a somewhat smaller verson of the G 23.0

Honestly not sure, I'll post a pic when I can, my Sister in Law gave it to us for home protection, I hadn't owned one for years until then, but its a really good solid gun, that I don't have to worry about with the wife, if needed she can grab/point/empty. It's the wifes first gun and the first time she ever shot one too!0 -
Nice, it is hard to beat the point and click reliability of a revolver.SM0K3Y:ExpendableYouth:

Yup, I was worried about the weight/kick for wifey, but she managed really well her first time at the range!0 -
I love my colt 1911. My favorite to shoot i s the Springfield Xdm. For fun to the range I take a Ruger Vaquero stainless 44 mag with a belt and holster. I get a lot of " can I see that " since I reload I let them shoot it too. Always a smile when they are done. I should start taking pictures of the expressions when they 1st shoot it. Some are hilarious.
Nice weapons btw you all have good taste.0 -

Is that a 1911 clone? It looks like it has double stacked mags, and I can't make out the model or manufacturer.jd50ae said:

It is one of the first P90 Para Ordnance ramped barrel double stacked 45s to be offered. The owner of The Loading Bench in Annandale, Va knew about them long before anyone else I knew and made sure I got one of the first. It has been fully worked and loves Federal Hydro Shocks. 1 1/2 inch groups at 50 all day long, a full magazine rapid fire will end up as 1 hole.1000s of rounds thru it and not one failure.ExpendableYouth said:

Para are suppose to be pretty cool, not many people have them on the west coast though. I think I've maybe seen a handful in person. Nice gun though, you can't beat a 1911.0

I have a dan Wesson specialist 45acp that I absolutely love. I also own a beretta 92A1 9mm, and its completely stock. i'm surgically precise with both, and I really hold them both as my favorites. im thinkin of sending out my beretta to Wilson combat when I ETS out of the military.0
