Matthew McConaughey as the Gunslinger in Stephen King's The Dark Tower movie?

https://www.yahoo.com/movies/39-dark-tower-39-roles-confirmed-for-1376455838638134.html

I'm just not seeing it.
Hopefully, it will be good, but I just can't see him as Roland, the gunslinger.

Oops.
I guess I misread it.

Idris Elba as the Gunslinger?
Now I'm not sure.

Who is going to be who.
Either way, none of it makes sense.

With some make-up, I think he could pull of the last gunslinger. I could picture him as the gunslinger later in the story better than the start though...

Although it doesn't list his role. Maybe he's playing Eddy.

None of the articles are clear on who is playing who.
One refers to Matthew playing Eddie and another says he will play Walter/Randall Flagg.

    So I'm really not sure.
Hate it when they release info and don't make it clear.

My wife is an avid King fan.  His books are way too detailed to make good movies and this is a multiple book series.  It will probably suck no matter who plays the Gunslinger.

I wonder how they are going to pull it off. It is a great story but how to get it all is going to be hard. Hopefully they do it in two or three sequels.

He's never had a problem serializing movies

Man it's been a long time since I read any of the Gunslinger books but I always pictured him in his late 20's early 30's. Maybe Flagg.

You know, I was thinking about this. Don't know why, but I was.
Scott Eastwood would have been a better fit, I would think.
After seeing him in Diablo, he has that look like his father that would be pretty good as the gunslinger.

I've always pictured a younger Clint Eastwood as the Gunslinger!!
    Team O'Donnell FTW!
