It's been forever since I had a 5v gold maduro... but price wise, the Padron (regular ol' brown label) maduros are comparable and fantastic. I'd personally take the padron over the 5v any day. Depending on the size, they can be like $3 ea.
A newer maduro that I like is the Fratello Bianco. It's a San Andreas wrapper, so it will be a little different than the 5V, but also has PA broadleaf in the filler (the 5v gold maddy is PA broadleaf wrapped). Very smooth for a SA wrapper.
Other maduros I like are the crowned heads J.D. Howard (Brazilian -- sweeter and earthy) and Jericho Hill (another San Andreas -- spicy, dry, and strong!).LLA - Lancero Lovers of America7 -
I just check out the Padron and they are 5.50 each and the Fratello Bianco are $8.25 but they both sound good but I would like a less expensive daily smoke but I will buy a fiver of both of those in the furture6

Yeah, the fratello, and Crowned heads will be in the $8-$9 range typically. I like the A. Turrent Triple Play. Filler, binder, wrapper, all maduro. I don't recall what I paid for them but I don't think they're expensive....5

$500 go for the padron aniversarios! Maduro exclusivos are my go to for the most part...can't go wrong with them! But I'm quality over quantity so I'd rather have less great cigars then a ton of eh cigars. Although I do own a ton of dog rockets I like to give away on passes and tradesMoney can't buy taste6
