Good lord people, enough is enough already. Regardless of what you think or feel, it's time to end this. It's embarrassing to see how this quickly spiraled out of control and yet it still continues. Does it make you that happy about yourself while stomping on someone else's back? Does that feel good? This same thing happened a while back and a lot of people left in disgust after that guy got ran off. I guess some people either didn't learn or don't care. WTF is wrong with you? If I was new and thinking of joining and I saw this, I would find another forum because this clearly isn't a welcoming sign. Yes, hundreds of cigars are in the air every day but this speaks much louder than that.I know, I know. I'm just some noob or someone who doesn't get it or whatever meme you wish to make about me. Not me, but some people take it as a personal affront. I would suggest taking these jokes, and they are jokes, in the spirit which they are intended. A fun thread has arisen from a simple typo but apparently it's only funto some of us.TaraLee said:

I've found this thread to be simply silly. It's less about the roundness of our planet, and more about having fun with each other! I'm a fan of 'inside jokes', and to me, that's what this thread turned into. The ccom forum has a few threads that I'm just not into, so I don't follow them. That's my choice. I do like this one, just because it's pure silliness!
And I think I can now say (regardless of my belief concerning the spherical nature of our planet) : I'm a flat eather!
Ccom forum folks aren't into offending or judging others... And certainly don't want to do any harm to others. But we are here to have fun with each other, and we even poke fun at each other. Many of us have a sharp wit or a sarcastic sense of humor, but we don't want to be judged by that either.
There are plenty of themes running on the forum. Lots of options to choose from. But, by having such a diverse group (of themes and personalities) there will be stuff we like, and stuff we don't. That's OK!
Yes, we should all be accountable for our behavior, But just because some may not like a thread, doesn't mean it should be shut down.

As I see it, a few of the posts appear to be direct insults aimed at the OP, some of the posts are just a little snarky towards the OP, and, the remaining majority of the posts are just silly. Perception is everything. If you perceive that ALL the posts are insulting then that's what you see. I too worry that outsiders might not appreciate this thread. But I'm not as worried as you. If this thread were a one time thing directed the original poster, I would be inclined to agree that it's all in fun.
But this is an ongoing thing where a few people attack him every time he posts.
That is childish and petty.
