Re: I smoked a good cigar from....
Being that this is my 1000th post, I wanted to light up something special. I never really drink alcohol, but this pairing was really spectacular. Thanks to Royln for the stick, it was a proper celebration smoke for 1,000 posts and almost a year here with you fine folks. Maybe one day I'll hit 10,000 like Shizz! As always,… -
Looking for Cigar Recommendation
So I'm getting married later this year, and I'm planning a night of cigars and whiskey with my groomsmen. My knowledge of cigars is pretty limited, so I'm looking for suggestions. We'll be drinking Woodford Reserve (neat). I'm shooting for a quality cigar that pairs well, preferably sold in boxes of ~10. My initial search… -
Re: liga privada # 9 problem
And to interject a Kuzi moment... There are many factors that could have influenced your taste buds too. I have learned specifically what meals pair well before certain cigars, what times of day, what drinks, full stomach or kind of empty stomach, etc... I tossed a personal favorite the other day too...it happens in teh… -
Re: Vegas
Personally, I think the regular Casa Mojito actually pairs REALLY well with the Casa Fuente house blend. As for Mojitos with cigars in general... the Mojito is a classic Cuban drink, so it is just another part of the culture, and definitely goes well with a cigar on a hot afternoon. If they have Don Carlos lanceros and… -
Re: Carbonation
0patience:I guess I'm an oddball. I really like Root Beer or Sarsparilla with a lot of my cigars, especially cameroons. That actually makes sense to me though Tony, the sweet and mild spice of sasparilla especially makes a lot of sense and I could see how the seer Cameroon wrapper pairs well with those drinks. Cool idea… -
Re: My Mexican Experiment
jgibv: robertgreen30: Bigshizza: robertgreen30:This cigar starts off really nice with sweet hints of chocolate and coca and stay sweet through out the whole cigar. I couldn't get enough of it as I burned my finger tips cause it was that good. The wood taste mixes good with the sweetest and makes a perfect smoke to enjoy.… -
Re: Mission Accomplished
wwhwang:Lol. Smirnoff Ice? :P If I pair cigars with alcohol, it's either a dark Guinness, a pale Hoegaarden, Captain Morgan's Private Stock, or Crown Royal (because I can't afford Johnnie Walker Green Label). Whang, you have to create a badge for doing it while drinking smirnoff Ice, maybe fuscia badge? I cant say… -
Re: Arturo Fuente Hemingway Between The Lines
kuzi16: 415:while i did enjoy it, it was very mild and there are much better ways to spend the money. you say that like being mild in and of itself is a bad thing. i may have miss worded that abit. i was not expecting it to be that mild. it would have been better paired with my morning coffee. I prefer a medium to full… -
Re: Hot cider pairing
It is getting chilly out here in Utah too; last few nights have been low 50's. I mean, up at elevation, read 8,500+ feet, it can snow in summer (honest) if a good front comes through. Down here in the valleys it doesn't cool down till fall. I am still shaking my head a bit that we're looking at the Autumnal Equinox in a… -
Re: Rootbeer/ Sarsaparilla and Soda .... stuff, thread
This was a great combo! I used to strictly drink coffee or water, but I am pretty sensitive to caffeine so I have since gravitated to rootbeer (caffeine free) or white tea (very low caffeine). Dad's is smooth and has a strong wintergreen component that I find pairs well with spicier / fuller-bodied cigars.I think I like…
