Started butter lettuce, endive, tomatoes, pepper and basil seeds about 6 weeks ago (maybe a little too soon lol). all coming along nice now (except the pepper only 1/12 sprouted, lame) will probably have to harvest lettuce and endive indoors before last frost. Looking at hardwood. I'm mostly looking for something to do with the land, but a wind screen would be a nice benefit. Ideally, I'd like to be able to sell 1/20th of them every year or 1/30th (depending on how fast they grow) while planting new ones to replaces the sold ones. We have 4 tomato plants of various sizes. Our strawberries have taken over half the garden. We have picked them about 6 times now and have had hundreds of strawberries. This year I only planted 1 zucchini plant because they can take over. Good choice because this sucker is huge. I planted 2 types of peppers but don't… -

Good lookin' garden there, Jim!! Ours pales in comparison but wife and I spent a bit of time "fixing up" the yard last weekend. Lots of weeding, edging, planting, transplanting, etc. --- mostly worked on the flowers, hostas, and perennials. We still have a little ways to go, a few more beds to clean up, but we made a good… -

Might look into black walnut, as a side benefit you will get the tasty nuts. Their roots put out something that inhibits other vegetation and the wood might be salable for uses other than just fire wood. I have one behind my house that I planted from seed 20 years ago and the trunk is about 1' in diameter now.
