Today at about 2:20 my wifes dad and one of the 2 or 3 most influential men in my life passed away peacefully after a long bout with brain cancer. He was truly like a second dad to me. Everyone is leaning on each other and God's grace ...we know there is no more suffering, no more need for morphine every 20 minutes and this is helping my wife a lot to deal with it, she was daddys little girl even at 45 yrs young. Having been by her dads side constantly for the past 8 weeks ( she had basically moved in and stayed day and night, sleeping in shifts) and seeing the unbelieveable pain and suffering he endured made it a little easier for her and her mom to let him go. You will be missed and we all love you mightily with all our hearts Pop ...see ya again later buddy .

Best wishes coming your way, Gene.
You guys have been in my prayers, and I'm sorry to hear about your loss. My condolences to you and your family.
¨Only two people walk around in this world beardless - boys and women - and I am neither one.¨
I have only slipped away into the next room
I am I and you are you
Whatever we were to each other
That we are still
Call me by my old familiar name
Speak to me in the easy way you always used
Put no difference into your tone
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow
Laugh as we always laughed
At the little jokes we always enjoyed together
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was
Let it be spoken without effort
Without the ghost of a shadow in it
Life means all that it ever meant
It is the same as it ever was
There is absolute unbroken continuity
What is death but a negligible accident?
Why should I be out of mind
Because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you for an interval
Somewhere very near
Just around the corner
All is well.
Nothing is past; nothing is lost
One brief moment and all will be as it was before
How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting when we meet again!
