How do you like working nights? The people who have it hard are the ones who get moved around every month working different shifts. I worked night shift at a large hospital medical records dept. Loved getting out in the morning wide awake and seeing the day shift wandering in all sleepy-eyed. Also at a small bakery working 3-11 and having the afternoon to enjoy. So I enjoy it now. At first it was hard to get adjusted to the sleep schedule, but as a result, I accidentally learned how to lucid dream, which is awesome. And I really like only working 3.5 days a week. Certain things are annoying, like places that are only open during business hours, but going to the grocery store at 3am is a magical experience. And now with Covid everything is closed anyway so it doesn't matter. Plus there's job security, they've been trying to fill this position forever and are still looking for 1 more person to cut down on our overtime.

you are up late/early. A vow of silence will do that to you, a whirlpool of words swirling around inside with no place to go....I almost got myself in trouble again on the vherf too. I got a job in January as a night shift fleet manager for a trucking company, 7pm to 7am with an occasional 7pm-1am or 1am-7am shift (42 hours a week) so I sleep during the day now.
So you haven’t been out of Chicago a year and you are already in management. Congratulations Calvin
So, kind of. I'm not in charge of anyone in the office. The way it works is that I have a group (fleet) of truck drivers that I'm keeping track of (managing). I have to make sure they're going to be on time and help them with any issues they're having. It could be anything from helping with directions, to a driver finding an illegal immigrant hiding on top of their trailer after having gone 200 miles away from Laredo, TX where they were picking up their load.
