Xikar lighter

So I had one of the single jet lights for a few years now, but things kept getting gummed up or something.
Yesterday I went by my B+M ( A&G cigars McDonough GA) and they not only replaced it, but gave me a choice of a few more expensive models.
I went with the "Real" flame number and I must say it may take a little longer to light up, but I am really enjoying it.

    what i noticed i was doing with some of my lighters is when i am at the final light stage of the cigar and i "puff" i was holding the lighter close enough to the flame that smoke would go back and hit the burner. after time, this would gum it up. hold the lighter farther away or at a different angle to help keep it from gumming up.

    So if it does get gummed up, is there anyway to clean it at home?

    True but if there was a simple fix I would rather take care of it myself then having to send it out.

    You can try compressed air. see if it blows it clean.
    I just walk into my B+M and they have no problem switching.

    You can also try using butane. The pressure from the butane bottle is more powerful than compressed air. You waste a little butane but it may dislodge some stuff that compressed air won't.

    get a qtip and dip it in some rubbing alcohol, then use a twisting motion to clean the head.
