Won a Vacation

Well a few weeks ago I won some tickets to see 311 and The Offspring from the local rock station's morning talk show. When I called in the guy who answers the phones, Kyle, asked me what I did over the weekend and I told him about me moving on Saturday and working 12.5 hours on Sunday and how I worked an 8.5 hr night shift the night before, this was the Tuesday morning after Memorial Day. He congratulated me on the house and told me to tell Elliott, the host, about the house if he picked me up and that he'd pick 3 callers at random out of 6. Well he picked the first 2 and then Kyle told him to pick up my line specifically and they all congratulated me on the house and the tickets are to the venue like 5 min from my place. I wrote them both thank you emails for the tickets and how it made my weekend so much better. I was also entered to win a trip to Curacao for the North Sea Jazz Festival. Well I got a call today saying how I was the grand prize winner and am going to Curacao in September for the Jazz Festival. I'm so stoked! I've never been to any place like this before and probably never would have. Heck I've only been to the beach a handful of times in my life. I'm so so excited to have this opportunity! Thought I'd share my excitement!

    Congrats bro! I won a trip to New York once. It was awesome cuz I never win anything. Not to be a Debbie-Downer, but just know that you'll get hit with a tax bill at the end of the year. Depending on the value of the trip, you might owe the IRS a little something..... Might wanna sock away a few bucks for when that happens...... just sayin. But enjoy!!!

    Thanks guys! I'll be taking TONS of pics and share them with you fine BOTL. LILWING funny you should bring that up I was researching that last night as I figured this one will probably fall into that category. The Jazz Fest tickets alone are like 1200 for the two of us. That's just the two days of music! Then I remembered I'm getting my 8K tax credit for the house on my next return so luckily if it comes out of anything it'll be that and not my bank account....lol Thanks bro! That def is good info to have!

    Glen and Krieg thanks guys! I really appreciate it. Actually I was just looking at the travel-dors on here and am gonna hit up Tim or Andy in the next few days inquiring about getting a travel-dor and stick combo deal. I know they have a lot of smokes from the ISOM down in Curacao. I can't wait to finally have some of them!
