has anyone heard of mastercard not being accepted for tobacco purchases?

i was placing an order tyoday and i was told that mastercard was no longer accepted for tobacco transactions world wide,
any one know is this 100% true or just a random website/vender prefference?

    they are refusing to honor illegal sales. vendors that certify age ,etc should be fine. Mainly aimed at cigarettes. (oh yeah, this story is five years old).

    From what I can google it's just the one online retailer hope this helps bro.

    I haven't run into this issue. Granted, I only order from CCOM, and sometimes an online hookah vendor. Mine and my mom's cards are both backed by Mastercard, and there's never been an issue.

    i was told this today i uasually just call in my order to another online site but i was told today that mastercard no longer accepted,might be a handful of vendors then,maybe nothing major

    I just placed an order here Saturday and the MC was accepted.

    I only shop at ccom with both of my MC's and I've never had a problem.
