shipping cigars overseas

I am hoping someone here can help answer this question. I want to send my brother a box of cigars for Christmas. He is currently in Kuwait serving with the Army and I am unsure how well the cigars will hold up to the travel time and the desert conditions. Has anyone here successfully shipped a box over? Is there a troop friendly store that will properly package and ship them for me?

I'm in nearby Doha and I'm in the process of dealing with the same thing. I think as long as you vacuum seal the sticks in a bag they should be ok. My experience with the APO system has been pretty good, things arrive here in about a week.

C.COM can and has sent packages to soldiers overseas. I know Jeff Jackson used to be the man for this job. Give C.COM a call and talk to a rep. They will help you out.

True, but I was also just trying to help a brother out. I know C.Com can't ship internationally anymore, but I'm willing to bet they would make arrangements for a service member overseas.

Yeah, the APO system is considered a plain 'ol American address, so oddly enough the can send something 7,000 miles away for about the same price as sending it to a CONUS address but they can't send it to a Canadian address, even if it's 10 feet away, go figure.

I've had CCom send me cigars while in Iraq to my APO address....don't think it would still be an issue. The problems I've had were sending them back to the states...tell your brother he's in our prayers and if you can, maybe even PM me his address so I can send him a bomb

I am currently in Afghanistan and I just bought a box of Casa Torano Cigars from CI.com. The Casa Torano's came with a Humidipak in the box. So if you get want to send him a box I suggest those or if you are sending him a bag of various cigars from your own collection do the same thing. Also I have been getting mail in about 2-3 weeks so any of the Humidipaks or pillows should keep the cigars fresh if wrapped in cellophane or plastic. Just remember to send it Priority Mail or else it will take a heck of a lot longer to get there. Space Available took 2 months one time and with the holiday season fast approaching the mail system is going to get busy.

Good point on the holidays...with X-Mas fast approaching it would be good to get the shipment out soon.
