So, uuuuuhhhh..... you startin that diet soon, or what? Or is this part of your strategy? Get us to think you're eating cheeseburgers with eggs, ham, bacon and fried vegetables on them, meanwhile, you really had a six incher from Subway...... I'm on to you, pal!

There's a biker bar in the mountains outside Albuquerque, can't remember the name right now. Their cheese burger has bacon, guacamole, green chile, cheddar, and sauteed onions. There might be something else on there too. Damn I wish that weren't so far away!

I am a purist when it comes to burgers and do not generally like a lot of extraneous toppings on them, so my two here might not be up some of your alleys.

#1 O'Connell's Pub here in StL Just a big assed patty cooked perfectly, topped with American or Swiss and onion. I put yellow mustard and a little ketchup on it.

#2 Miller's Bar in Dearborn MI. Unlike O'Connell's this burger is formed, not had patted and is smaller. And, it is topped with Velveeta. Never thought it could be so good, but it is.

I like a lot of exotic and extravagant foods, but for me, I like simple burgers done perfectly.

Jokes aside, I take my burgers seriously. The best spots for burgers in Chi-town have to be Kuma's Corner and Paradise Pup..... At Kuma's I like the Mayhem burger. 1/2 pound burger, Sliced Jalapenos, Pancetta, Pepper Jack cheese and Gardinera Mayo. At Paradise, I like the Char-bacon-cheddar burger. They use Mertz Cheddar. Love that stuff.

Same deal as above, they take basically a 7 oz meatball and throw it on the grill and pat it down to patty shape.

At a Rivberboat Casino near me, there is a placed called Prime Burger. This place is awesome. They have Lobster Burgers, Buffalo Burgers, and Kobe Burgers. among the dozen speciality burgers. My Favorite is The B.L.T.& A... Bacon, ( six slices) Lettuce, Tomato, and Avacado. With Maytag Blue Cheese, white truffle aioli, caramelized onion, and Mayo on a toasted bun. Best Burger ever.

You guys are killing me. I've sworn off burgers and all the food I really like until I can drop about 35 pounds. This thread sure isn't gonna make my next turkey sandwich taste any better. Smile [:)]

I've always wanted to try that place. I drive past the billboard on I90 all the time and drool everytime I see it....... or is it the Blackjacks Gentleman's Club billboard that makes me drool?

    Probably both. LOL!

  • Get one at Hodads in Ocean Beach, CA. Hands down best burger I ever had. The place was on that diners drie-ins and dives show on the food network. When I get home from deployment, that's the first thing I'm doing.

+1 for Paradise Pup and the Char-Bacon-Cheddar-burger.

The Bristol Tap in Bristol, IL serves up an 11-ounce cheeseburger and its a meal by itself. Don't be in a hurry, sit back and relax and have a couple of beers...this is not fast food.

Edzo's Burger Shop in Evanston, IL is another good place for burgers. When your there you have to get the 8 oz. char cheeseburger and they grind their beef every morning so it's always fresh. Don't forget the fries...they have traditional fries but your going to want to try the garlic fries, loaded fries, taylor street fries, and even the cheese fries topped with Merkt's cheddar.

Another burger place I have to mention is Sobelman's Pub & Grill in Milwaukee, WI. the classic Sobelman Burger with fresh Black Angus beef patties served on an egg-washed butter bakery roll and topped with traditional bacon, jalapeno, onions and three kinds of cheese; American, Swiss and Cheddar.

Well after all that I can't hardly stand it anymore...I'm going to head out to Paradise Pup for their Char-Bacon-Cheddar-burger.
