OH NO!!! HELP!

I have a second humidor I keep at work. It is really my 'storage' humidor. Anyway, I haven't checked it in a while. I opened it up today and the humidity was WAAAy down... 40%! My Gel was empty. I tried cutting a few sticks and punching a few, and they all cracked. I noticed that even the bands are slipping off each one!!! I've got nearly 100 cigars in there, and if they are ruined, I just threw several hundred bucks down the drain! I know it is my fault for not check it often enough but... is all lost?

If they arn't to far gone you still may be able to save them. I found this article that seems to have some very good info on a recovery process.

All I can say is: take your time with them. Don't re-humidify too fast or they'll burst open. Slowly bring them back up to 65% rh over 4-6 months.

They'l never be the same, but if you put the time in, you can get them back to "smokable"

Still can! like they said above. don't touch em, just bring the humidity back up slowly and it will be fine. If you start messing with em as is the wrappers might crack.

Honestly, it wasn't all THAT long. They dried out fast. Maybe a few weeks over the holidays, when I was out of the office. But, I guess the gell dried out and the sticks went shortly thereafter. Seriously, I'm SICK over it. I've got to smoke them. Dry or not. Otherwise, I'll feel like I just put a few hundred bucks up in flames. Not a happy guy...
