I've only had one: it had 8 months on it and was phenominal. I picked up a few more in my most recent order but will probably only end up aging them until the spring and see how they hold up to determine how much stock I have (either way they're going to be a staple).

Just checked my order history and bought ten 6/27/10 and have 4 left. I have had one about each month and the first three or four I didn't care for at all, so much I didn't even finish them. Felt like I was smoking charcoal or something. After the 5-6 month mark, it was incredible! I don't know what happened to it but I couldn't believe how much I enjoyed it. You are right, ~6 months seems to be the sweet spot! I really should have bought a box of them in December when they were on sale.
