Vegas: Casa Fuente, NO. Rhumbar, YES!

I was in Las Vegas last week on business but found time each day for cocktails and cigars. I went to Casa Fuente in The Forum Shops at Ceasar's Palace on my first day b/c I read soo much about the place (raves about the waitresses, cocktails, etc.). I didn't really enjoy the place at all. First off, the bar is tucked under the escalator and was just a plain old bar. Nothing exciting or interesting about it. The walk in Humidor was ok. Not huge. Anyway, there were a few tables inside and a few seats at the bar, but the bar seemed more like a service bar rather than a bar were customers would sit, drink and smoke. So I opted for the section just outside the door, which was a roped-off area of about 8 or 10 tables. The view was of the escalator and a small section of the mall corridor. I ordered a Mojito and had an Ashton from their humidor. I knew what to expect from the smoke but I expected amazing things from the mojito (b/c of what I read on the travel boards, etc.). And it was just OK. Actually, I make a better Mojito. Now the waitress... well ,The waitress was just ridiculous hot amazing smokin' dangerous.... from the neck down. So yeah, that was Casa Fuente. Luckily, I was staying at the mirage and was tipped-off that they had a good cigar bar called Rhumbar (and I was pretty lucky for the tip b/c the bar was at an end of the hotel I would never have otherwise visited).
The mojitos at Rhumbar were excellent (probably some of the best I've ever had... and I'm a drinker... so my opinion has value lol), and the atmosphere is just as good. You can sit at the bar inside or go outside to couches and oversized chairs where you can watch the 50 inch plasma TV's all over the place, or watch the lights out on the strip. They have heaters outside so it is comfortable regardless of the weather (it was rather cool, by Vegas standards, the week I was there). Rhumbar had a 'humidor' but it wasn't very well stocked. The upside to that is you were welcomed to smoke your own cigars, where at Casa Fuente I believe you had to buy one from their humidor. I had my herfador with me and I had some smokes I really wanted to get to, so having to buy a Fuente was a smoking set-back for me. Needless to say, I spent a lot of time drinking and smoking. Well, when I wasn't 'working', of course.
So yeah... IMHO, Casa Fiente, NO! Rhumbar, YES!
