After doing the dishes from last night's dinner party and brewing a pot of coffee, I came out on the man patio to have a New World Cameroon short robusto with that coffee. My daughter gave me an armless beanbag gnome last night, he's sitting on a pipe shaped ashtray that I plan to convert to a planter.

I discovered that I've been mistaken for years about the flavor of the New World Cameroon. I've called it marzipan, but it's really mazipan from the De la Rosa Mazipan candies.
Marzipan is more of a sweet paste (similar to fondant), made with ground almonds, powdered sugar, almond extract and egg white. The predominant flavor is almond. Mazapan on the other hand, is made with grounded peanuts & powdered sugar only.
Mazipan has a chalky and crumbly texture with some peanut bits here and there. When you take a small bite, it will practically dissolve in your mouth and you will first feel the sugar and the peanut taste afterwards.

I know, I know. Macanudo Inspirado. Don't make fun of me. I bought these for my wife, who occasionally likes to have a cigar with me. She likes smaller ring guages, because she had a facial palsy and her lips don't quite move right just yet. Alas, her therapist recommended she not smoke, because the action of drawing in is most likely detrimental to her recovery. So, somebody has to smoke 'em.
