Anyone watching the new HBO series? I like it. I heard it described as medieval Sopranos, which so far seems about right.

For those that haven't read the books: stay tuned. This story is incredible and will hammer you between the eyes with awesomeness...
AVAST, YE SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!!!
Warning'!
Details about the plots a'comin
Not big ones, though.
Still, you be warned....
In this season, the producers seem to have finally decided that Martin's "book plots" are most undramatizable. The plotlines for Tyrion, Danaeys, Sansa, Jaime and Jon Snow have totally deviated from the events of the fifth book.
And, as far as I'm concerned, it's all for the better. If the series had followed the books it would have been nearly unwatchable. And certain characters wouldn't have even appeared this season.
My guess is that the producers, realizing that the series is moving faster than Martin's capability of writing books, leaned to him to come up with a different "timeline" for the series to make it more commercially viable. But that leaves Martin in a literary hole. There's really no way that he can reconcile the events of the series with the plotlines in the books at this point. Whether he intends to keep on writing the books as separate entity from the series or give up on ithe books entirely is the real question.

To me it's like Walking Dead. I had never read the Comics and didn't even know the show was based off of a Comic until after the First Season. Following the first few Seasons I got the Compendium Volume One and it was cool reading it and seeing how there was a lot similar but certain things and when or how they took place may have been different.

KINDA SPOILER
I hope you're not putting me in this category. I did say SPOILER at the top of my post, and put plenty of line spaces so people could could avoid them.
Anyway, i actually like the changes the show has made. The first couple seasons followed the books pretty closely, but wisely began dramatically deviating when they reached the fourth book, which was terriblel. And the show's producers seem to be picking and choosing stuff from the fifth book, which was sometimes great and sometimes just awful, keeping some plotlines the same and inventing new plotlines, most of which are for the best.
If Martin does release the sixth book before the start of next season it will be interesting to see if he tries to reconcile the events of the show and the books. I hope he doesn't. He's created a narrative, for better or worse, with some incredibly difficult plot holes that need to be resolved. I'd be far more interested in seeing him resolve these than try to jerry rig the books to reflect the series.

Some say it was taken down because of copy right infringement of the first song.

On a side note, any pinball fans out there? There's a Game of Thrones pinball now out that is a huge amount of fun to play, even if it doesn't integrate all that well with the theme.

"LET'S GO FRANCIS" Peter
I've seen everything from the most popular theory on his parentage and how Mel will bring him back, his oath to the Black no longer applies and he becomes the warden of the north. Also saw his parentage is R+L=J so when they try to burn him he doesn't burn and he becomes a white walker and replaces the night's king.
