Spilled Jar of Gel

Let me start this by relaying that I am an idiot! I bought my brother-in-law a humidor for Christmas. I had to travel with it. I had forgot to put the lid back onto a small jar of that gel stuff. Well, the humidor got tilted over in the car, and the black lid with holes popped off, and the gel went all over the humidor. The wood is fine, but there are stains where each part of the gel was laying in it. I am curious, will any of the chemicals from the gel (prop. glycol, correct?) hurt the humidor? Will it ever hurt the cigars in the humidor? What can I do to best clean it up? I was thinking about wiping it out again, with a damp cloth. Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks...

I would just try to wipe it down a few more times using distilled water. Be careful not to use too much water because it might warp the wood.

    i agree with that.

i may also suggest switching over to beads. when they spill nothing gets ruined, its just a pain in the ass to pick em up.
