Cigar Box

I have a cardboard? cigar box that says IMPERIO on the front and underneath DE GEORGE SHAFER CIGAR CO.

Inside cover it says 6c

 

This worth anything?

  • Or if anyone could suggest where else to ask or look. Seems old and dont want to get rid of it without looking around.

    it may be worth something. GEORGE SHAFER was a politician in North Dakota in the early 1900s.
    this was around the time that politicians used cigars and cigar boxes the same way that yard signs are used today. meet the guy, smoke his cigar... vote for him.

    there are a few ways you can date the box.
    somewhere on the box will be a tax stamp that will have the date encoded on it.
    HERE and HERE are links to the National Cigar Museum that will help you date the box according to this stamp.

    as far as actual value on there i am no expert. this is not the end of cigars that i am usually into. i hope that helped a bit, i hope you find what you are looking for, and i hope you keep us posted on what you find out.

  • Dont see any tax stamp but on inside it also says copyright 1927

  • Will try to get some up this week. Neat looking box just dont know on value
