Someone/Anyone, educate a rookie like me. What's the difference between a "Like" and an "Awesome"? Does it matter? Does it help a brother out?

Here's how I react, YMMV.
Vote Up > Awesome > Like. For cigars, if it's an outstanding choice I'll usually Vote Up. In the Caption This thread we tally the Vote Ups to find the winner.
I give Awesomes out for most cigars if the person smoking it liked it. Some dog rockets I can't bring myself to Awesome so I just Like it.
I also use Like for some posts that I feel Awesome isn't appropriate to Awesome, like a post about a situation that's not Awesome but I want to show support.

It was acceptable. Being the eggspert I am (cough, cough) I believe it was the candela part of the barberpole that made it less enjoyable than the regular Asylum 13. Not that it was bad, it just didn't have the same oomph that I'm looking for in that line.
