found a good method of cleaning my lighter

my trusty old lighter that I bought from a hobby shop years ago, finaly failed me. after using it to light way too many fireworks last fourth, it would not light. I tried blowing it out with compressed air, tried alcohol, but it would not ignite. so today I tried gun cleaning solvent, just saturated it with the solvent, rubbed it with a q tip then blew it out with compressed air and it lit right up! it took almost no effort with the solvent.

Man I wish you would have posted this a couple years ago - did the same thing (fireworks, stupid) with a lighter I really loved. Tried everything but could just not bring it back to life. Oh well, this trick goes in the toolbox of knowledge to be tried when (not if LOL) I do something stupid to mess up a lighter. :-)
