Wow... first off, they are on his private property, which he has the right to defend. Second, how can a non-citizen sue for violation of their civil rights? Also, how can this be decided in a U.S. federal court? Wouldn't this be outside its jurisdiction? And wouldn't the man effectively be making an arrest as a citizen, and therefore be permitted to use the force required to detain the accused until such time as law enforcement officers are able to intervene? If they get so much as a dime, I would like to see the publicity around this escalate.

Maybe theres a limit on how many illegals you can bag in a day ......yea, thats proably it, just over the legal limit.....slap his hand an turn him loose.
Maybe theres a limit on how many illegals you can bag in a day ......yea, thats proably it, just over the legal limit.....slap his hand an turn him loose. On a serious note, I'm a pretty laid back guy and I don't go looking for trouble, but, having said that, I take that protecting my family and property pretty fu_cking serious and no matter where I live ,someone trying to harm my family ,any friends in my home or myself will find themselves with a h_ell of a firestorm to deal with. I am legally armed and very proficient in the use of what I have. I still beleive in the fundamentals this country was founded on.
The problem is that nobody else believes in the fundamentals this country was founded on! My grandmother came over to this country in the early 1900s. She came through Ellis Island and did it right. The people now are just hopping the border and think that we owe them something. I think something drastic needs to be done. I also think that the people who hire them as workers need to have severe penalties so that it does not happen again.
Look at this, all you right-wing whack-jobs!! We agree on something! Save this thread. Illegal immigration is bad for our economy and bad for our society. I don't mean to disrespect a culture, but changes in citizenship need to be handled through the proper channels. Sneaking across a border and stealing an identity is not te proper channel. This problem persists because we allow it. So now let's stop it.
Duty 1969 miles is the length of border. That's a lot of Real Estate to guard. But still only half as long as the Great Wall of China. What we need is to get some Chinese here build us a wall and solve our Mexican problem. ( I am only kidding)
Wow, you guys say all the same things I do...only when I say them to my douche bag friends, I'm a racist or something . I've got nothing against Mexicans at all, I especially commend the ones that come here legally and take the effort to learn english. I have a tremendous problem, however, with illegals...and that's illegals from any country, but it seems that Canadians aren't busting down our doors to come here and work...I guess having a functional country has its perks. Unfortunately, the illegal amigo have become such an ingrained part of so many industries, that either a) things would grind to a halt or, b) prices would go up so much it would make our heads spin if they were to all go away. And that right there is a slippery slope, we have them picking strawberries one day, the next day 50-75% of the workers on any given construction site are not native citizens, many of them not even citizens at all.
There has to be a line drawn somewhere, but cases like this only serve to erase an existing line, what used to be known as a border... If you ask me, if a person does not have a US citizenship, whether they be Mexican, Russian, Chinese...or even Canadian, they have no rights save for their basic human rights. **** civil rights...I don't even think I have those anymore. I wonder if there is any other country in the world that would not only roll out the red carpet but also snub its own citizens is favor of those from some other country. You want to talk about reducing the deficit?, ok, let's talk about not giving health care and other welfare to non-citizens and see what we can drum up.
I think that damn near qualifies as a rant. This is an issue that always gets me heated though, I constantly wonder how long my job is safe. People would rather pay a cheap guy who does cheap work than someone who actually knows what they're doing. I'm glad I'm an electrician and not a carpenter, that's a tough gig out here, every Hector, Julio and Javier with a hammer is a carpenter in California.

By god Duty! We do agree!!! I'm seriously going to write this day down and celebrate it every year! haha
You make a valid point about the illegals coming over and doing lots of work, and that if they all left our economy would grind to a halt ---- at least, that was the case when the economy was strong. Now that unemployment has skyrocketed, an exodus of the illegals would open up tons of job opportunities, and employ people who will keep their money local.
I think that the banishment of illegals and the turnaround of our economy go hand in hand. We essentially need to "onshore" some of our jobs -- or in this case, just bring our employment north of the border.
That is where my second thing comes in Duty. Sure a mass exodus would open up a ton of jobs, and I'm all for that. The thing, I don't want to say problem so "thing" will have to suffice, that comes up at that point is the subject of minimum wage, workers' rights, potential unionization...a whole host of things you don't have to worry about with illegals. If we were to take a look at just the produce industry, or hell even just strawberries, in a case where only US citizens were filling the job of growing, tending and harvesting, how much would the end product cost compared to what it is now? When the price jumps to $6-$7 per pound and such increases happen across the board on such similar things, then everyone gets up in arms about that. At this point, it almost seems like a no win situation, we've gotten too dependent on the role they fulfill.
All Illegals must go! It is time this country starts taking care of itself and not everyone else. The people who are defending the illegal immigrants rights are going to get screwed just like the rest of us. I think that we are in such a position now with jobs being scarce that if it gets any worse, the americans looking for jobs will take about anything without having to worry about unions, etc...
Our new President wants to push unions and also wants to push for minorities to have the jobs and not the rest of the population. I saw it on the news the other night. I think what people are not getting is that WE are starting to be the minorities. We need someone who has a backbone and needs to realize that America needs to take care of itself as I stated before and take a look at other countries and see how immigration isn't as much of a problem there as it is here and that we need to make it tougher on illegals to the point that they do NOT want to come here anymore. I don't want to pay for healthcare for anybody else except my family and I sure as hell don't want to pay for healthcare for people who aren't paying taxes or at least working a job.
Oh, and by the way if you are not a citizien of the US you don't have any civil rights in the US!
Oh and another thing, I bet the suing wasn't even the idea of the Mexicans. It was probably an Idealist American who thought that he or she could make a name for themselves and get their 15 seconds of fame. They are the ones that should be taken to court and sued.

I agree 5000%, however the people in charge beg to differ, that is the debate over Gitmo, the handling of detaines, and what to do with terrorists
They argue that our civil rights apply to to any one we have jusidication over, and anywhere in thw world where we mantain a presence.. so if terrorists hell bent on our destruction get civil rights, so do uninvited guests and in this case trepassers..The first raft for Cuba leaves at 8am tommorow..they got free healthcare and good cigars..and well at least they dont pretend to be anything but Socialists

AND the lawyers who are now representing them!!! There should be an open season on lawyers anyway if you ask me. With a MINIMUM bag limit of 5 per week. haha
