Anyone had a cohiba cuban? I've got 5 churchills and 5 torpedos.... Lit one of each up tonight to see if they are legit (because i just got a huge order and need to make room in the humi) i first noticed that they burned like crazy on the outside, just toaste the wrapper.... the torpedo wasn't terrible, but had a distinct flavor that wasnt pleasant....the churchill had zero flavor on the pallet.. and left a horrible, horrible flavor on the lips....
All in all i've come to the conclusion that they must be a ripoff (nicely done one at that) Unless anyone has had experiance with the real deal and can tell me what it should be like.....

Unless they were smuggled into the country up someone's bum, it's pretty safe to say they are not legit.
Seriously, they are high quality cigars though not the holy grail that CA and some others try to make them out to be, in my humble opinion of course.
go here and learn more. dont be so quick to jump the gun.
on that note, the only cubans that i have had i was not very impressed with. Im still willing to give them a shot again but im not running out at every chance i get to buy some.
"Take a close look at this picture. These cigars are FAKE. Period. I don't care what anyone has told you, where they came from, how legit the seals and bands look, how well made the cigars are, or how great they taste. There is no such thing as authentic Cohiba Esplendidos in a "glass top" box. This is one of the biggest scams going and the tourists from Florida, through the Caribbean, and right to downtown Havana buy these boxes of "Fauxhibas" like crazy. This is by far the most notorious counterfeit Cuban cigar scam going - please don't become another mark by purchasing a box of these cigars."
I now know that they are most definatley a fake.. Just in time because I've got no room in my humiand 20 stick coming today!
For what it's worth, "smuggling" them in isn't an issue... Every time my "friend" has gotten any, his friend(s) simply drop them in the mail to him. They pass right through with no problems at all... Not a single shipment has ever seen so much as a delay...
As far as the OP's experience... I'd say there is no doubt they were fakes... Every cuban my "friend" has had has been delightful... Each quite different yet each shares a "special something"... Not sure how to describe it... Call it a "flavor profile" that is unique to ISOMs... A special "creamy/buttery smoothness" that you just don't find in ANY other cigar...
Kuzi is also right... If they don't have some plume on them, let 'em sit for a while... There is NOTHING like a good ISOM with good age...
Not that I'd know of course... but that's what my "friend" tells me...
