Just got a couple corncobs

So I decided to join this bandwagon and see how it is going to go. Well one of the corncobs has a large gap that allows air in and out. Now I dont know if that is a bad defect or not because I am a nooooob. Someone let me know please!

    That hole is called the stem, and it's what you blow in an out of, noob ;)

    J/K - needs pics to see the hole you may be able to patch it, or just send it back in for a new one

    HAHA crap I left out saying the stem. Its at the base where the stem goes into the bowl. Will post a pic.

    I'd say send it in and ask for a replacement

    Now Im having trouble keeping the other one lit lol! The piece of the stem that usually goes into the bowl on the corncobs has broken off in shipping to the retailer I bought it from and it wont burn down all the way or evenly. I fail at pipes!

    Where'd you get the corncobs from? They should work out of the box

    I'm waiting to put in an order until they've gotten the Missouri Meerschaum Legend in that's currently on order. I'm gonna need tobacco, pipe cleaners, a pipe tool, etc. but I want to do it all in one order. That Legend looks pretty good for a cob and I like the idea that it's filtered. Some of the others evidently aren't.
