Since 2000, the middle class has shrunk in size, fallen backward in income and wealth, and shed some—but by no means all—of its characteristic faith in the future.

But alas they are not and we are left to fend for ourselves. I am happy to report my income has risen during this period with the exception of three of the last four years because of applied talents.
