Cutting torpedos

Is there a proper way of cutting torpedo's? It seems that almost every time I smoke one, I have problems with the wrapper coming undone. I usually just lick the wrapper and stick it down, but about half way down it gets pretty had to keep it together.

Simply cut off very little and if you feel you need to cut off more (tight draw) do so. It seems you are cutting it much too high causing the wrapper to unwravel. I like torpedos but you have to get used to smoking from a small gauge at the tip where you cut it off which may seem strange at first.

if you look at a torpedo very closely you will see where the cap ends. you want to make sure not to cut that off. i usually cut about half way from the end of the cigar and half way from the edge of the cap. if the draw is too tight i cut a tiny bit more.
