Mold in beads?

I just checked my RH in the ole humi today and saw that the bead puck needed to be recharged. As I was filling the dish to recharge the beads, I saw a few blackish spots on the outside of the outer beads in the puck. I thought it may have been lint or something but even when they were filled, it seems the black spots stuck to the beads.

I've never heard of the heartfeldt beads getting mold on them, has anyone had an experiences with it and am I going to have to buy a new puck?

I thought it wasn't possible (in theory) because of the alcohol?

I have a half pound of beads, most of which are in a mesh bag, but a small amount of which are in a puck that I took the foam out of. In the puck I have noticed a few beads that have turned "brown". I have not noticed any such effect to the beads in the bag....just a few that are in the puck. I have no idea what caused it....but I don't think it is mold.

I hope its just what you had Moose, I don't want to have to throw away some of the sticks I have in that humi.
