Does anyone have Irrigation sprinkler system design experience

I had Rainbird do a free design for my property as I'm putting in a very big new lawn. I've been looking over the design and think it may be over kill. Anyone here have experience with this stuff? i'd like to keep costs down while effectively watering my new lawn... It's all new to me so any helpful suggestion or hints would appreciated.

I did landscaping 1 summer in college --- I was never with the crew that installed it but irrigation systems was one of the things the company did...
I'd say you're (probably) getting a fair price (even though it's high $$$$) because the prices they charged were pretty expensive.


Other options would be a DIY irrigation system similar to this one, maybe, http://www.instructables.com/id/Automated-Sprinkler-System-Anyone-Can-Do/

Or roll out the hose everyday ....
