I have had each of these before but need a reminder of what they were like..... time I did a review what with my constantly changing taste! My memory said I like all of these but thought it was time to resurrect "Pick My Stick" Looks like you might have picked a winner this time Randy.,

    Camacho PE - Mini review

    image

Here are some things about this stick that I did not notice (or dont remember) from the last time I smoked one:

    1. The prelight draw was just about perfect with a slight hint of cocoa
    2. The stick has a shaggy foot and a tiny pigtail head
    3. This was a really light weight stick
    4. This was a relatively 'soft' cigar. The weight and firmness (or rather lack of) surprised me a bit. Seemed to be loosely packed.

OK On with the mini review.... toasted nicely and first draw produced a very nice thick smoke. I noticed a lot of pepper in the first few puffs and that seemed to tame down a bit after that. The burn produced a rather ragged ash. Nice burn, just a ragged ash.

The first half was a 'nice smoke' with good flavor. "Well balanced" would be my best description, not a great stick but above average. My tastes are not well developed but I sensed a bit of leather. I also noticed a tiny harshness in my throat. (at about the half way point)

The second half seemed to have a bit more flavor and seemed to increase a bit in strength. The final third continued to strengthen slightly.

This smoke lasted about 1 hour 25 minutes - a bit faster than I was expecting maybe do to the loose pack. I would give this a solid 4 out of 5 and a nice enjoyable smoke.
I do think it is overpriced at retail (Gurkha-ish?) but with various discounts not too bad. I kind of picture it sort of 'gimmicky' with a small amount of pre embargo Cuban filler.

I will try to keep a couple around and give it a solid 4 out of 5. Thanks for your votes.
