    I wish I had a tray (plate with holes in it) just like that for my humi. I would just layer the bottom of the humi with my beads and set the plate on top. Seems like it would work great for that. Or I guess KL would be ok too as long as you keep your cat out.
    Heartfelt makes humidity "sheets" made out of the bead material. Its like a mat you cut to size and lay anywhere. I considered it for lining the bottom of a humi or cooler...

    Commonly called a "crumb catcher", those plates with holes in them allows circulation like Rhamlin said, but also meant to elevate your cigars off the bottom so when parts of cigar wrappers flake off (if you store your cigars naked), the flakes fall out to the bottom. If you want more room in the humi, take it out, otherwise the effect is negligible
